Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club
Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club is a place where people from all walks of life can unite with a common aim or goal "to save lives and keep our beaches safe" in a fun environment. The association is the only community service organization that also is involved in competition at regional, state and national levels.
We at Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club are "The Life of the Beach" at The Strand, Townsville & Picnic Bay, Magnetic Island - patrolling both beaches on Saturday afternoons, all day Sundays and public holidays. Our aim is to provide a safe and fun environment for the public of Townsville and Magnetic Island and our many visitors.
We have a positive impact on the local community as well as the thousands of individuals from interstate and overseas, who have utilised our beach safely and acquired surf education over the past 79 years.
Townsville PBSLSC prides itself on the fact that there have been zero drownings on our beaches here in Townsville and on Magnetic Island.
Strong traditional values are one of the key success factors for the Club. In addition to providing Life Saving skills and youth development, we offer camaraderie and friendship within this Club and with other Clubs around the region.
You do not have to be a fantastic swimmer or athlete to become a member of Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club. There are many activities you can be part of both socially and competitively.
Our emphasis is on FUN AND PARTICIPATION and if you win along the way it is a bonus.
